Behind the Scenes in the Learn Grant Writing Collective

Updated: Sep 18

I have been given a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with a beautiful soul, so that we can offer valuable services to hardworking women-led organizations. I am excited to collaborate with The Sage Executive and be a part of change. We know each other from Learn Grant Writing and are fellow unicorns.

How did I even get here? I started my consulting business in 2021 and read through any grants I could find to familiarize myself with the jargon. Then, I began researching how to be a grant writer on YouTube. I would stalk the LGW channel, along with any other channels I could find. I attempted to self-teach and got so confused. I learned so much from watching the videos, but there were MAJOR gaps. I felt like I was missing something. I needed community and real feedback. So, I took a leap of faith and joined the Learn Grant Writing Collective.

Meredith and Alex, the co-founders, have put together a wonderful team of coaches, who support us along our career shift journey. The program includes courses that teach you all about grant research, writing, and how to find clients. You will learn more about LGW's Organic Networking Framework, which makes so much sense and opens so many doors of opportunity. Learn Grant Writing has an 'earn while you learn' concept, and it is amazing! Who would have thought you could put those lessons to practice while earning money?

After successful completion of the courses and assessments, you earn a certificate. Boom... just like that you're a bomb certified grant writer. The program goes beyond the courses because you have community, coaching calls, and bonus training to help answer any questions you may have as you come across different situations. They don't leave you alone on this journey and that's exactly what I needed. Once you're done with the certification program, you're able to stay as part of the collective to continue to get support and feedback from the community. Meredith and Alex are down to Earth and maintain a constant presence in the community, which isn't often seen in programs. (If you're genuinely interested, I will put a special link at the end that you can use!)
